Why did you choose to go abroad?
Moving to the US was always a dream for my wife and me. We’ve spent our entire lives in Germany, and we really wanted to have that experience abroad—especially in the US and New York. Since obtaining a visa and finding a job can be challenging, we decided to work with Stage Global to take advantage of their connections and expertise.
How does the US culture differ from your culture and what has impressed you most so far?
Everything here feels faster, bigger, and more exciting. New York’s incredible mix of countless cultures and languages is truly inspiring—it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. What impresses us the most is how New Yorkers just get things done and don’t waste time on the small stuff. It’s a hustle-and-flow kind of city that pushes you to be your best.
Could you take us for a day? What are your routines?
After getting up, I head to the nearby gym for an early workout. Then, I get ready for work, where I spend most of my day. The office is in Kips Bay, and the commute takes about half an hour. After work, I either enjoy one of the many activities New York has to offer or head home, where I cook dinner with my wife. We love exploring new restaurants, catching Broadway shows, or meeting new people through the Meetup App.
How has this experience abroad helped you to grow personally?
Moving to a new country and city has really pushed me to grow. There are constant challenges, but overcoming them has built my confidence. It’s an experience that shows you just how capable you are when you have to adapt to a new environment.
Why would you recommend others to do a program abroad?
I think spending significant time abroad is incredibly valuable. Not only does it look great on your resume, but it also helps you develop personal skills like resilience, adaptability, and cultural awareness—skills that will benefit you throughout your life and career.

Rewarding. Exciting. Challenging.
